On the Courts\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Sign-up doubles maxxed out at 18 players June 30th.  Attendance has been high this season.  Sign-up doubles is on Mon, Wed, and Fri from 10:00 to 11:30 AM.  Email Jerry at jsdvorak77@gmail.com to join the group.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tuesday drop-in doubles (6-8 PM) attendance is about 2 courts per session.  Come out to play when it is a bit cooler.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The wind screens were installed Jun 6 with assistance from about a dozen members.  Thank you!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A table was returned to the Court 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are umbrellas for use in the old pickleball net box beside Court 3.  However, they are easily blown away, so please use only on calm days.  Return to the box after use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Round Robin and Lunch<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A round robin and lunch social event is scheduled for Jul 26 at 10 AM.  An email was sent to members about this on July 3.  Please email Kevin and Nicole Nussey, or Lynne Whitaker to register.  nusseykevin@gmail.com<\/a>,  Lynnewhitaker12@gmail.com.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Court Reservations <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Court reservations are filling up for morning weekday slots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Court reservations can be made by emailing info@kincardinetennisclub.com by 6:00 PM Sunday.  The maximum court reservation block is 2 hours.  The court schedule is posted weekly on the Club’s website at Info\\Events, Lessons and Court Schedule.  The link is at https:\/\/kincardinetennisclub.com\/?page_id=215.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Court reservations are not required, but members with reservations have priority over members that drop in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pickleball <\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a reminder about pickleball on the tennis courts this year.  There are no reserved times for pickleball, and no portable pickleball nets at the courts.  Pickleball is permitted if a court is open.  Pickleball is not permitted during Club scheduled events, like Sign-up and Drop-in Doubles.  They can use the tennis net on the open court, and no modifications to the net are allowed.  Pickleball players should have non-marking athletic shoes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2025 Lesson Program<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A successful beginner lessons program wrapped up June 7.\u00a0 A total of 42 players, 13 adults and 29 juniors from age 4 to 14 participated.\u00a0 The instructors were from the Southampton Tennis Club.\u00a0 As you can see May 24 (below) was rather chilly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

OTA Smash Cage<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On June 29 the Ontario Tennis Association (OTA) Traveling Road Show came to the Kincardine courts.  The Smash Cage was setup for people to measure their serve and stroke ball speeds.  In addition, a lesson was given to 18 players.  Players received a variety of OTA gifts including t-shirts, hats, overgrips, wrist bands, and water bottles.  The fastest serve recorded was by Kartik Kelkar at 155 km\/hr.  However, he broke a string in the process!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

T-Shirts 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once again you have an opportunity to buy a Kincardine Tennis Club t-shirt.  There are grey and navy colours in all sizes.  Material is cotton or moisture wicking polyester.  The minimum order is 15 shirts.  The price is about $20 each.  Email Samantha Black at samantha.l.black@gmail.com<\/a> to order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Final Thoughts<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now that the tourist season is in full swing, be aware of unauthorized activity on the courts like, skateboarding, cycling, fence climbing and any other actions detrimental to the courts.  Please remind the visitors to be respectful of the facility.  If you don\u2019t feel comfortable approaching someone, please give me or Doug Holtby a call.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
