Season Opening March 30<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The nets went up March 30, 14 days earlier than last year.  Thanks to Jerry Fabian, for opening the courts.  However, the weather has played a role in limiting play due to either rain or cold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The membership drive is on, and a copy of the registration form is attached.  Print out the form to sign it, and either scan it, or take a cell phone picture and return to info@kincardinetennisclub.com.  Payment can be made by etransfer to the same email address, or contact myself, Eva Pyszczynska, or Doug Holtby if you want to pay by another method.  The Executive contact information is on the website.  Currently 58 members are registered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your etransfer receipt is considered proof of membership. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tennis Club members have priority access to the courts if they are full.  If you ever have difficulty accessing a court occupied by non-members, call one of the Executive to discuss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Court Maintenance<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The benches are on the courts and the portable toilet has been installed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another bench was refurbished by Peter Davidson over the winter.  Thanks Peter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Four lights were replaced in October 2025, but two lights have gone out over the winter on the north side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The wind screens are scheduled for installation on May 29th<\/sup> after the Sign-up Doubles session ~11:30 AM.  Please indicate if you can help install the screens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Group Play<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sign-up doubles is underway on Mon, Wed, and Fri from 10:00 to 12 AM.\u00a0 Thanks to Steven Mayze who has agreed to coordinate this group.\u00a0 Email Steven at mayzestev@yahoo.com<\/a> to join the group. A weekly invitation form is emailed to registered players to sign-up.\u00a0 Members can still drop in last minute as everyone is welcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tuesday Evening doubles from 6-8 PM has begun.  Evening doubles will be on Thursday nights, if the Tuesday session is rained out.  This is not drop-in this year as people sign up via a shared spreadsheet which gives visibility of who is playing. Players are still paired with multiple partners for variety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interclub Date<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Southampton Tennis Club is holding an interclub doubles round robin on June 13 at 1 PM.\u00a0 Three other clubs are participating, outside of Southampton. The rain date is June 14 at 1:30. Email Dave and Linda Mason at eacher92@gmail.com<\/a> or call 226-930-9559 to register.\u00a0 The group also goes out to a local restaurant afterwards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tennis Instruction<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Group tennis lessons are scheduled for May, 30, 31, June 6,7,13,14.  There are 3 separate groups, Juniors <17 2-3 PM, and Adult beginner and intermediate lessons 3-4 PM.    The instructors are TPA certified from the Southampton Tennis Club. The cost is $70 per adult and $60 per junior.  To register, email info@kincardinetennisclub.com<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

University of Western Ontario Women\u2019s Tennis Team Fundraiser Clinics<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are two dates for tennis clinics from 9-11 AM, June 20th<\/sup> and August 22nd<\/sup> at the Kincardine courts. \u00a0This is for intermediate and advanced players and raises money for the University of Western Ontario Women\u2019s Tennis Team.\u00a0 The cost is a minimum $50 donation. UWO team members have to pay to play for the team to cover traveling expenses.\u00a0 The instructors are the team coaches and KTC members.\u00a0 To register email Chantal and Maciek at chantal.maciek@gmail.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pickleball 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is no pickleball program in 2026.  This means there are no reserved times for pickleball, no pickleball nets stored at the courts, and no pickleball lines will be painted on Court 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pickleball is permitted using a tennis net if the courts aren\u2019t filled.  The nets are not to be altered in any way for pickleball.  No pickleball is permitted during a scheduled Club activity, like Sign-up or Evening doubles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There has been an increase in random pickleball activity this year, including putting tape on the courts for pickleball lines.  Placing tape on the courts is not permitted.  Feel free to remind pickleball players that no court alterations are allowed.  Please report any instances of court alteration to info@kincardinetennisclub.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Social Doubles<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A doubles round robin and lunch will be scheduled in the summer similar to the successful round robin held last year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Court Schedule<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A weekly court schedule will be posted on the website.  The guidelines for reserving a court follow:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
