Kincardine Tennis Club Charter

The Kincardine Tennis Club is a non-profit organization that was formed in the early 1960s. Our primary role is to act as an agent for the Town of Kincardine who has empowered the tennis club to operate under the authority of Community Services. As such, we administer the day to day operation of the tennis club facilities including the tennis programs offered within the community. All of this is accomplished on a no-cost basis using the skill sets of seasoned tennis players who volunteer their skills and expertise as a community service.

The Town of Kincardine is the registered owner of the tennis court property. Membership fees are levied to club members to fund the operation and maintenance of the courts. In return, members have priority access to the courts. Over the years, the tennis club has been responsible for all of the routine operating and maintenance costs of the facility on a no-cost basis to the town. Tennis club funds are also pooled within our operating budget to execute various capital projects as required (e.g. court resurfacing, new lighting, etc). When significant capital expenditures are required that are beyond the capability of the club, then we will partner with the town through the normal budget approval process to see these projects proceed on a share cost basis.

The tennis club’s ultimate goal is to ensure that a healthy and thriving tennis program is available to the community.
